The Road network of India is
second largest road network in The World with total length of around 4,320,000
kilometers. Indian road network is consists of 1000 km -Expressways, 79,243 km
-National Highways, 1,31,899 km -State Highways and Other major district and
rural roads. These amazing network of roads also have Elevated Expressways,
Cloverleaf Interchange, river Road Bridge and flyover, which are longest and
largest in India as well as in Asia.
NH-7 Longest National Highway in India
The National Highways Network
of India covers 79,243 km of the country, including 1000 km of limited-access
highway or limited-access road. NH 7 is the longest national highway in India
with a total distance of 4,572 km from Varanasi to Kanyakumari. But as per the
new scheme, the longest national highway will be NH44, running from Srinagar to
Kanyakumari.

Expressway will be the longest elevated expressway of the country with a total
length of 19 km. It's under construction in Chennai with Maduravoyal Grade
Separator or Maduravoyal Junction at the intersection of National Highway 4.
Largest Cloverleaf Interchange in India
The Kathipara Junction of
Chennai is the largest cloverleaf interchanges in India and largest cloverleaf
flyover in the whole of Asia. Kathipara cloverleafgrade separator is located at
the intersection of Grand Southern Trunk Road,Inner Ring Road, Poonamallee road
and Anna Salai. Kathipara Junction is an important road junction in Chennai,
India.
Longest River Road Bridge
The Mahatma Gandhi Setu river
road bridge over the holy river Ganges in Bihar, connects the capital city of
Patna in the south to Hajipur. It is a 5.5-km-long, 4-lane roadway, making it
India’s longest river road bridge and one of the longest bridges in the world. The

Longest Road Cum Rail Bridge in India
The Godavari Bridge or
Kovvur-Rajahmundry Bridge is truss bridge spanning Godavari river in
Rajahmundry, India. It is Asia's second longest road-cum-rail bridge crossing a
water body, after the Sky Gate Bridge in Kansai International Airport, Osaka.
It is second of the three bridges that span the Godavari River at Rajahmundry.
The Havelock Bridge being the earliest, was built in 1897, and having served
its full utility, was decommissioned in 1997. The latest bridge is the Godavari
Arch Bridge, a bowstring-girder bridge, built in 1997 and presently in service.
The bridge is 4.2 kilometers
(2.7 km Rail & 4.2 km Road) long consisting of 27 spans of 91.4 m and 7
spans of 45.72 m of which 6 spans of 45.72m are in 6 deg. curve at long Rajahmundry
end to make up for the built up area.
